Recycle it All

Recycle like crazy at home and look for items in recyclable packaging.

Why You Should Do It

You’ve done the basics.  Now you’re ready for the next step in recycling.  Recycle all your cans, bottles, paper, cardboard and plastics at home – but now start looking at your purchasing decisions.  Rather than buying items wrapped in plastic packaging that can’t be recycled, buy items in paper or cardboard that can be recycled.

What It Costs

Free!

How to Do It

  1. Select “Add to My Challenge” and pledge recycle like crazy at home and start seeking out more recycling-friendly purchases.
  2. Make a little list of the items you usually buy in packaging that can’t be recycled.
  3. The next time you go shopping, bring your list with you and try and find recyclable alternatives.
  4. Congratulate yourself on a job well done and making a difference for Minnesota!

Make It a Family Activity

Share your list with the other members of your family and ask for help seeking out recyclable alternatives.  High fives to whoever checks an item off the list!
